The pain meds are working quite well, although at this dosage they leave her fairly groggy.
Surgery is now forecast for Saturday. If all goes really well, she may be out of the hospital 5 days later.
Even in the hospital, She remains tethered to her trusty iPhone. She is enjoying reading emails, even if her replies are shorter and less reliable than usual.
I will write an update again tomorrow, likely after the surgery.

Hi Robin and Geoff, So sorry to read about your broken hip, Robin. What a total bummer! Fingers crossed the docs get you fixed up and home again soon.
I feel like a real bum-face for not writing in ages. I'm still teaching ESL at the local college in Brandon. It's a lot of work for a so-so wage, but the students are very keen and lovely. Mehmet and I are still going back and forth between Doha and Brandon--not an ideal situation--hopefully we'll decide where to live together soon. Mehmet's now got his Cdn permanent residence card, so he can come here. We shall see... I didn't travel at all this summer as I taught June and July and then Mehmet came here in August.

Hi there, Thinking of you on an intense basis and of the importance of pain-killers and love. I heard you and Geoff were able to tussle successfully with the hospital staff for maintaining your comfort and here is a bucket-full and overflowing quantity of pure and unadulterated love. Hope the surgery goes well and that the aftermath will get you back home, comfy and snug with family and friends. Off to a friend's cottage without internet so I'll plug in and phone on Sunday.
